When I started this practice in 2008 from a spare bedroom in my house, all I wanted was to have a private place to see my clients that allowed them a space to truly decompress for an hour or more. Through the years, the space has changed, but the goal has stayed the same.
Now located in a historic bungalow with an additional massage practitioner, the practice still offers superb service and a private space for clients.
We are not a franchise; there aren't multiple people milling around during your service and we don't generally have walk-in service. I'd like to think that our clients continue to come here because, while one can get a massage, facial or waxing anywhere, they cannot get the level of service and expertise they consistently receive here.
Thank you for choosing The Bungalow Spa and keeping the practice in business for eight years and counting.
Andrea Kane, Owner
As a practitioner....
Massage: I provide Barefoot Sports Massage (a deep massage modality performed with my little feet!) and deep/sports work only. I do not see clients who need light or medium pressure and unfortunately, if you happen to schedule and require such, I will need to reschedule you. My deep work sessions are highly therapeutic and can be relaxing, as each session is customized and deep pressure is individualized, not necessarily a painful, agonizing experience. I specialize in working with men, those with chronic pain or injuries and athletes of all levels and bring more than 25 years of experience to each client. Sessions are available at the spa, my private studio and in your home, office or hotel room.
Skincare: Before touching faces, I came to "beauty" as a writer and the product manufacturing side. I have a wealth of information that I offer my clients. I provide facials, full body hair removal for men and women (sugaring and wax), chemical peels and microdermabrasion treatments and bring more than 12 years experience to each session.
Yoga & Pilates: I specialize in 1:1 yoga and pilates sessions. For each, I excel in working with men, people with chronic pain and injuries, athletes of all levels and people who recognize (or are at least open to recognizing) how integrating movement into their lives can be highly beneficial for mind, body and spirit. My teaching style has been described as "addictive," "unconventional," and my favorite "difficult." I am STOTT Pilates trained with more than seven years experience and 20+ years of yoga experience. The studio is equipped with a reformer, Cadillac/Trapeze table and stability chair, as well as weights and other small accessories.
